Pedro Almodóvar’s Strange Way of Life to open the 18th Pragueshorts

The complete program of 18thPragueshorts, the international festival of short film held from 28 February to 3 March at Prague’s Světozor, Bio Oko, Atlas, and Kino Pilotů cinemas, is now out. The ticket presale is now available here.

For the festival’s opening evening on 28 February at the Bio Oko cinema, the programming team has put together a special selection of six films, including the hit of last year’s festival in Cannes – Pedro Almodóvar’s most recent short film Strange Way of Life starring Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal. Tickets for the opening evening are available here.

At the core of the festival’s 18th edition, are three competition section: the National Competition, the International Competition, and the Labo section of experimental films. The International Competition announced today consists of twenty-seven films, including works that have won awards in Cannes, Berlin, and Locarno. Audiences can also look forward to our popular live-moderated Brutal Relax Show (which among other things presents Fresh Blood starring Clara McGregor), Pragueshorts for Kids, and a retrospective of films with or by Jiří Mádl. The complete program of the festival can be viewed here

After 3 March, the festival’s final day, selected films from the Pragueshorts program will be available on the KVIFF.TV online streaming platform. This online part of the festival runs until 17 March.
