Davide Maldi, Micole Roubini

Micol Roubini lives and works in Milan. She studied painting at the Universität der Künste Berlin and at the Brera Fine Arts Academy in Milan. She also received a diploma in audio technology from Milan’s Institute for Musical Research (Irmus). As an artist, she works mainly with video, sound, writing and multimedia installations. She has collaborated as part of the Casali+Roubini duo since 2010. Her first feature film, The Way to the Mountains, was presented in international competition at the 41st Cinéma du Réel, held in 2019 at the Centre Pompidou. The following year, the film won the Corso Salani Award at the 31st Trieste Film Festival.

Davide Maldi was born in Rome. After graduating from the International School of Comics in Rome, he began working as an illustrator and storyboard artist for cinema and video. He studied the art and science of the performing arts at Sapienza University, Rome, and cinema and new media at the Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA). He works as a director, filmmaker, and director of photography for cinema and theater, and has collaborated with many experimental theater companies, producing social research documentaries, investigative reports, and entertainment TV shows. His most recent film, The Young Observant (2019), had its US premiere at the Museum of Modern Art in New York during the MoMA Doc Fortnight in 2020.
