Swimming with Wings
It is difficult to leave one’s home country and live somewhere else – as Lyri knows quite well. Her parents moved from Israel to the Netherlands. For her, the difficulties of her new home are embodied by the fact that she must learn to swim while fully clothed, just like all Dutch children.

Daphna Awadish Golan is an Israeli filmmaker and illustrator living in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She specializes in creating animated documentaries and works as an independent illustrator and animator. Her last two short films, Journey Birds (2016) and Bear with Me (2019), were screened at many international festivals and won several awards.
