Dian Weys

Dian Weys is a South African filmmaker with an MA in film studies cum laude from the University of Cape Town. His first three short films have been screened at more than a hundred international film festivals, including Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs ShortFest, Tampere, and ZINEBI Bilbao. Bergie (2022) also won the Tanit d’Argent for Best Short Film at the Carthage Film Festival. His latest short film, Vultures (2025), was selected for the Official Short Film Competition at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Unifrance Short Film Grand Prix.
