Sonja Hofmann has a Diploma in Regional Science of Latin America (University of Cologne) and lives in Cologne, Germany. She is curator and programmer of the International Competition of IWFF - Dortmund | Cologne International Women's Film Festival and works in the organization of the festival office of the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. Besides she organizes the annual latin american filmprogram "Kino Latino Köln", is member of the selection team of the European Short Film Festival "Unlimited" and directs the cultural department of the latin american magazine "Matices".
She graduated from FAMU in Screenwriting and Script Editing in 2008. In the year 2007, she wrote her book K moři (Toward the Sea), for which she was awarded the Orten award and won nomination for the Magnezia Litera award for fiction. She wrote her BA screenplay based on the novel K moři, which placed first in the Barrandov&RWE competition. In 2009, she published her second book, a collection of three short stories – Zmizet (To Disappear) which won the Magnezia Litera award for the Best Book of 2009. She placed third in the Sazka competition for not-realised screenplays with her adaptation of one of the Zmizet stories – Na krátko. Recently, she has worked as a screenplay writer for the “Comeback” series. Now she works as one of the dramaturgists of the seria „Ulice“ Her latest book „Marta v roce Vetřelce“ was published in 2011.
Gustav is a filmmaker and cinematographer in Stockholm, Sweden. He’s studied Architecture at Chalmers and directing at IHTV in Gothenburg. Gustavs work as cinematographer includes Roy Andersson’s most recent, award winning feature film You, the living. The film premiered in Cannes 2007.In 2008 Gustav made the short documentary Portrait of a Reluctant Gentleman that received a lot of attention for it’s experimental and visual style.The Twin, 2011 is his short feature film debut. It premiered internationally at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, where it won the Busan Cinephile Award. It’s currently playing on festivals all over the world.At the moment, Gustav works as a cinematographer and is developing a new short film and writing a feature film.
Philip Ilson has been working as a film and event programmer since the mid-nineties, when he founded The Halloween Society multi-media club night. Since then he has worked as a programmer for the Curzon Soho and the East End Film Festival, and has worked on larger scale music and film programming for Latitude Festival, and the Branchage Jersey International Film Festival. In 2004 he founded the London Short Film Festival, now in its 9th year. He is also the short film programmer for the BFI London Film Festival.
The designer and occasional actor graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague before joining magazines Reflex and Raut as art director and editor in chief respectively. Since 1995, his company, Studio Najbrt, has been collaborating on the design of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
