Jury verdict: We liked it for the energy, originality and depiction of the magic and cruelty of childhood. Innovative use of media, mixing animation and film. We felt the director is a very talented big child who doesn’t want to grow up.

Jury verdict: An original and moving film in the spirit of Jim Jarmusch that had great inner power. The ending is intense and perfectly paced to remind us that we are all human with human feelings; no matter what body we are wearing.
Ousmane – Senegal, France

directed by: Dyana Gaye
Jury verdict: We liked this film for the naiveté, generosity and brightness of childhood against the materialism of the adult world. Ousmane has nothing, but he is rich of his own imagination and dreams.
