Crush

Alexey German, jr., Ivan Vyrypaev, Boris Khlebnikov, Pyotr Buslov, and Kirill Serebrennikov are five brilliant and respected representatives of the young generation of Russian filmmakers that have been successfully working the festival circuit for the past several years with their films including Alexey German’s Paper Soldier, winner of the Silver Lion for Best Director and an Award for cinematography at the 2008 Venice Film Festival. These five directors have each taken up the uneasy task to make a short film about love on a very low budget. The five films in this section bring a fresh view of love and life in today’s Russia. Crush had its international premier in the Orizontti section of the 2009 Venice Film Festival.
